Mails close at the Chief Post-office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations: — FRIDAY, September 21. For Wellington and Sydney, per Easby, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, |12.10 p.m. train. SATURDAY, September 22. For Otago, overland, at 0 a.m. Mails per Rotorua will close as under: — For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, America, Canada, Sandwich Islands, at Ip.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Northern ports of New Zealand and Sydney, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. Newspapers and books for Rotorua’s mails, noon. Money orders, 11.30 a.m. Registered letters, noon. English mail, per Rotorua, is due in Loudon on or about November Bth. American mail, per Ro-. torna, is due in San Francisco on or about October 18th. Late letters for mails per Rotorua can be posted in the guard’s van, Christchurch Railway Station, by 2.30 p.m. train, Saturday, 22nd instant, provided such letters bear an additional single rate of postage as a late fee.
