Mails close at the Chief Post-office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations:—

TUESDAY, September 18. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Claud Hamilton, at 0.40 a.m.; late letters, 10.10 a.m. ; railway station, 10.30 a.m. train. For Otago, per Rotorua, at 9.40 a.m.; late letters, 10.10 a.m.; railway station, 10.30 a.m. train. For Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth, per Maori, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, September 19. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Wellington and Nelson, per Arawata at 1.50 p.m. ; late letters, 2.10 p.m. ; railway, 2.30 p.m. train.
