Miles, Hassal and Co, agents. Passengers—Saloon: Mr and Mrs Percival, Mrs Thompson, Miss Collins, Messrs Ewing, Christie, Lerrane, Way, Allan, Gabites, and seven in the steerage. Luna, p.5.,247 tons, Bascand, from Wellington and West Coast Ports. P. Cunningham and Co., agents. Passengers —Saloon : Mrs Gooch and four children', Messrs Turnbull, Green, Janies, McAllister, Deunister, Buller. Jane Elkin, ketch, 25 tons, Leslie, from Picton. Master, agent. Omaha, brigantine, 132 tons, Burr, from Chatham Islands. P. Cunningham and Co., agents. Passengers —-Mr Chudleigh, Mr and Mrs Patterson, four children, and two servants. Cleared —September 6. Hawea, s.s., 462 tons, Wheeler, for Northern Ports. Luna, p.s., 247 tons, Bascand, for Wellington, Westport, and Greymouth. The Luna arrived from North at 10 p.m. last night, and sails on return trip to-day. The s.s. Hawea, from Port Chalmers, arrived at 9 a.m. She sails North this afternoon. The Jane Elkin, ketch, from the Sound with timber, and the Omaha, from the Chathams, arrived this morning. The Waimate commences her discharge tomorrow. The William Davie took in 230 bales of wool on Tuesday and Wednesday, The Waikato took in wool, tallow, and grain yesterday. She is now more than half loaded, her lower hold being full to the after part of the main hatch. There is a quantity of preserved meat ready for her, and she will speedily fill up. The Merope will conclude her discharge tomorrow. Mr C. W. Turner has received intelligence that the Australian Sovereign from Newcastle bound to Lyttelton was dismasted in a severe gale and had to put back to Newcastle to refit. The Clematis ketch is loading at Picton for this port. From the Evening “ Post” we learn that Mr G. A. Johnson, who was chief mate of the ill-fated ship Ocean Mail, and whose certificate was suspended, has had it returned to him, it being found there was some informality in the proceedings of the enquiry at the Chathams, on which islands the Ocean Mail was wrecked. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS, Bluff, September 5. The s.s. Tararua left Melbourne on the 29th at 9 p.m. Arrived at Hobart Town on the 31st at 19 p.m. Left on the Ist at 5 p.m. Experienced fine weather until arrival at the Bluff at 12.30 p.m. today. She brings 20 saloon and 24 steerage passengers for all ports. In saloon for Lyttelton, none ; steerage, 5; 30 tons cargo. Wellington, September 5. Sailed —Tui, for Kaikoura and Lyttelton at 6 p.m. Passengers—Miss Donnelly, Mesdames Jones, Mr and Mrs Sneesby.
