Magistrate's Court , Mr Hogg, late agent in charge of (lie Bank of New South Wales, was examined before the Magistrate yesterday. The evidence showed that prisoner had confessed to the police that he alone had concocted the robbery. He was thereupon committed to take his trial at tlie nest criminal sittings of the Supreme Court, W ESTTORT, August 31. At the skating rink Mr Petrie, clerk in the Bank of New Zealand, broke his leg yesterday. Bmsnhbim, August 31. At a meeting of Catholics held last night, resolutions in condemnation of the Rdu-
cation Bill were passed. The resolutions were similar to those passed at Wellington. They are to bo sent to the local members, and to Bishop Redwood. Dunedin, August 31. A meeting of gentlemen interested in the High schools was held yesterday afternoon, at the City Council Chambers, to consider the proceedings of the Education Board at its last meeting in reference to thosff establishments. It was resolved that a memorial bo prepared for transmission to His Excellency the Governor, praying for an enquiry.
