Mails close at the Chief Post,-office for the ollowiug places as under, subject to necessary ..Iterations;— Friday, August 21. For Otago, per overland. ;it 11 a.m. Mails per Rotorua will close as under:— For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, t he Continent of Europe, America, Canada, Sandwich Islands, Sydney, .Brisbane, &c., at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.iu. '■'or Northern Ports of Now Zealand, at 1 p.m,; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For money orders and registered letters, noon. Newspapers and book packets, noon. The mail despatched per Rotorua will bo due at London Oct. 11th. Late letters for mails per Rotorua can be posted in the guard’s van, Christchurch Railway Station, lay 2.30 p.m. train, provided such letters hear au additional single rate of postage as a late fee. For the Kaikouras and Wellington, per Tni, at 4.45 p.m. The late box, guard’s van, must not bo used per Tni’s mails. Saturday, August 25. Mails per Arawata will close as under For the United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Otago, Australian Colonies, India, China and the East, the Continent of Europe, Ac., at Ip.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. Newspapers, hook packets, registration of letters and money orders, at noon. The Brindisi mails, per Arawata, is due in Loudon Oct 22ud. The Southampton mail, per Arawata, is due in London, Oct 29th. The box in the guard’s van, Christchurch Railway Station, can he used for Arawata’s mails up to 2..50 p.m., bnt letters so posted must, in addition to the ordinary postage, bear one additional single rate of postage as a late fee.
