POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at tire Chief Post-office for the following’ places as under, subject to necessary alterations:— Tuesday, August 21. For Wellington and Nelson, per Arawata, at 1,50 pan.; late letters, 2.10 ii.ni.; railway station, 2.30 pan. train. For Wellington, per s.s. St. Kilda, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.30 p.m. train. For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22. For Akaroa and Otago, per Taranaki, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Wellington and Sydney, per Easby, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3’20 p.m.; railway station, 1 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco will close at Christchurch on Friday the 24th iust.
