PARLIAMENTARY INCIDENTS.

Wellington, August 16, 8 p.m. It lias again been rumored that Mr Whitaker will resign his position in the Ministry, and that Dr. Pollen resigns at the end of the session. This afternoon there was a great row, as the telegrams will inform you. Mr Whitaker is now raising a question of privilege on articles wliieli appeared in the " Oamaru Mail," relleeting on Ids transactions in land purchases in connection with Brissenden, of last year's notoriety, lie denies the imputations, and lias moved that the article is a breach of privilege, with the intention of moving at a future day that G-eorge Jones, the publisher, be brought, before the bar of the House. Mr Manders rose to refer to reflections on his character in other newspapers, but the Speaker said discussion must be limited to the article in question. Mr Wakefield is now speaking, wishing the House to be further acquainted with the contents of the article before votiug that it is a breach of its privileges. _ The discussion on the Native Lands 33111 will proceed this evening. Mr Rces has a notice of a breach of privilege on the Order Paper in respect of members of fcho House appearing in Court yesterday in regard to Barton's petition.
