CHRISTCHURCH. Sat CRB ay, August 11. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.) Drunk and Disorderly. —Three inebriates, who appeared for the first time, were lined 5s each ; Terence McLaughlan, 10s and Is cab-hire ; Robert Taylor, 40s. Assaulting the Police. —W. J. Ealloon was charged with obstructing and assaulting the police, in the execution of their duty, by rescuing a man who had been arrested by the police. Accused also assaulted the constable. Fined 60s. Embezzlement. —H. W. Patterson, alias T. H. Fielding, surrendered to his bail, and was further remanded till August 13th, bail being allowed. Vagrancy. —A case of this kind against George Smith was adjourned till the 18th i instant. LYTTELTON. Saturday, August 11. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.I Lunacy from Drink. —Charles Benson, on remand, was discharged from custody, having fully recovered.
