Taranaki sailed North shortly alter 2 p.m. with a great many passengers, including the Dunediu football team. Win yesterday's issue we stated that the merope was iii command of Captain Thomas, formerly her chief officer. . This was a mistake, Captain Sutherland is in command. INQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF THE KETCH QUIVER. An inquiry was held at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Lytfojiton, yesterday, beforeW. Dona Id R.M., and Captain-Worster, Nautical Assessor, regardmgthe wreeE of the ketch Quiver. Mr«larrick appeared for the owner of the vessel, and Mr H. N. Nalder tor the Union .Steam Shipping Company. Mr Alex. Rose, Commissioner of Customs, conducted the inquiry. Affer a large amount of evidence had been ttikeu, the inquiry was adjourned till to-day,
