It is reported that Mr Layard is negotiating for the entry of the .British lleet into the Dardanelles. Great atrocities have been committed by the Cossacks and Christians against the Mohamedans. it is announced that the Russians still hold Ardahan. A itussian official despatch states that Terquaksir, after relieving JBayazid, retired to Grumnl. A Turkish official despatch states that, after retiring, lighting was resumed, with heavy loss to tiie Russians. Wellungtox, July 23. The following is the Agent General's telegram, dated Loxnox, July 18. The Russians have captured JSicopolis with slight loss. Two Rashas, 6UUO prisoners, and forty guns were taken. The Russians continue crossing the Danube, and have passed the principal pass of the .Balkans. The Russian head quarters are at Tirnova ; they command the budges on the one side and the Balkans on the other. The Craud Duchess has attended the Rushan wounded. At Alexandropol the Turks have fallen ,juck from the line of the Jasca to the line of the town. The Czarewitch is in command. Important results are expected at Rutschuk.
