The revenue collected, at the Customs on Tuesday amounted to £521 18s 7d. The following were the items:—Wine and spirits, £l7B 14s 4d; beer, £2l 12s 6d; tobacco, £25 16c 6d; tea, £2O 10s; sugar, £9O 14s 9d; coffee, £l7 6s 9cl; pepper, £3 2s 9d; vinegar, £lB 15s; ginger, £5 12s; spice, £2 16s; confectionery, £2 17s 8d; drapery, £3l 6s; stationery, £l9 2s; kerosene, £3O; boots, £39; grindery, £5 6s; galvanised iron, £6 Is; leather, £lss 4d ; sundries, £2.
At the land sales on Monday and Tuesday 9966 acres 2 roods 25 perches were disposed of, situated as follows : —Selwyn, 512 acres; Akaroa, 312 acres; Ashley, 95 acres; Ashburton, 3125 acres, 1 rood: Waimate, 5204 acres; Geraldine, 711 acres 1 rood 35 perches; Town of South Eakaia, 3 acres 3 roods; Town of Arowhcnua, 2 roods; Town of Ashburton, 2 acres 3 roods; realising £20,749 Is od. The above included several sections which were sold last week.
