Nelson Provincial District. —A statement of account of the provincial district of Nelson for the quarter ended December 31st, 1876, appears in the “ Gazette.*’ The receipts were £8775 9s Id, and the expenditure £17,750 14s 3d. Swindlers are Particularly Active just now, attempting to palm off upon the public certain imitations, counterfeits and bogus importations purporting to be identical with or “as good as” a standard medicinal beverage long and favourably known to the people of Australia. The article sought to be imitated is the famous Udolxmio Wolfe’s Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps. Ask for and take none but the genuine article. — [Ad Vl.]
