The barque Lurline got under weigh at 12 45 p m. to-day, and saikd with a fresh westerly breeze. The s.s. Wellington, Captain Tdoyd, arrived at 8 am. She sails North this afternoon. Captain Thomson, harbor-master in Port Otago, in his last report to the Harbor Board, says:— One of the prominent headlands on the great highway along this coast is Cape Saunders, and is also at the approach to Otago Harbor, and very frequentlv shipmasters in this port have expressed their astonishment to me that such headland has not been lighted up long ago. lam therefore of opinion that there should not be any longer delay In lighting it up, and that the Harbor Board should bring this matter again under the notice of the Government, and thereby secure to the shipping the advantage they expect from the principal sea port of New Zealand.
