At St. Andrew’s last evening, the Rev. D. Bruce was presented by the parishioners with six hundred and fifty sovs. as a farewell testimonial. Mr Bruce had been pastor at the church for a quarter of a century. The race between the Pet and the Brothers came off to-day in the presence of ■BOO spectators. The Pet, being longer, gave her opponent one minute. The Brothers got first under weigh. Coming to the winning point the Pet fouled a ship in rhe harbor, but was extricated. The Brothers, just being the minute of allowed time, tacked, and was in the act of winning, when, on approaching the wharf, she suddenly tacked before passing the winning point. The judges are now considering their decision. In a foot race of 120 yards for £2O, between Whitside and Gibson, the former won. Relays of miners have been working most energetically.
