Monday, Judy 9. The Board mot at the conclusion of the meeting of the Drainage Board. Present — Messrs Hobbs (chairman), Tancred, Harman, Jones, and Duncan. LOCAL HEALTH ACT. The Chairman brought under the notice of the Board the necessity for a conference as to the amendments required in the Local Board of Health Act. It was resolved that the chairman, Messrs Tancred and Duncan, form a committee to go through the Act, and suggest amendments. INSPECTOR'S REPORT. The report of the inspector was read and approved. NXGHTSOIL PANS. A report was read from the sanitary committee stating that the premium had been awarded to Mr Scager for the best design of pan. The committee also recommended that a trial should be made in the day time of the new pan by removal of nightsoil. The report was adopted. INFECTIOUS DISEASES. Four cases of infectious diseases were reported during the fortnight. The Board then adjourned.
