For money orders and registered letters, noon. Late letters, per Potorua, can be posted in the guard’s van, Christchurch Railway Station, up to 2.30 p.m on the 29th instant, provided each letter bear, in addition to the full postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee. Australian Colonies and Southern Ports of New Zealand, at 1 p.m. ; late letters, at 1.20 p.m. Point de Galle, India, China, and the Fast, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good iiope, Mediterranean Ports and Foi’eign Countries, via the United Kingdom, 1 p.m ; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For newspapers, money orders, registered letters, and book packets, noon. Late letters for mails per Arawata, can he posted in the guard’s van, Christchurch Railway Station, up to 2.30 p.m. train on Saturday, June 30th, provided such letters bear, in addition to the full postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee.

It is suggested that all letters intended for transmission by the British mails should he secured with gum or wafers, the use of sealing-wax having been found to cause delay m separating letters, and in some instances to lead to addresses on newspapers being rendered illegible.
