CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, June 13. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.)

Drunkenness.—James Dooley was fined 20s, and a first offender ss. Assault.—An adjourned case against James O'Brien for assaulting his wife was withdrawn on the application of Mrs O'Brien. Larceny.—Thomas G-affeny, charged with stealing a pair of boots from the shop of Mr George Jones, Colombo street, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, with hard labour.

LYTTELTON. Wednesday, June 13. [Before W. Donald, Esq.] Drunkenness and Indecency.—John Durham, arrested by Constable Bullen, was fined 10s, or, in default, forty-eight hours.

Cattle and other Trespass.—J. R. Webb, for having three head of cattle astray on Governor's Bay road, was fined 10s. T. Grange, for having a horse at large, was fined 10s. George Plielp, manager of Messrs G. L. Bcath and Co.'s drapery business in Lyttelton, was charged with hanging goods on the verandah posts in front of their shop in London street. The Bench inflicted a penalty of 10s.

Civil Cases. McDonald v Derapsey ; Mr H. N. Nalder for defendant. Adjourned case. No appearance of plaintiff. Case dismissed. Trustees Murray's Estate t Brown, judgment summons. Order made for immediate payment; in default one month's imprisonment. Moymbon v Ellis, claim £5 14s 2d ; judgment by default. Pearson v Robinson ; judgment summons order made for payment within four weeks, or in default one month's imprisonment. Same v Jackson ; judgment summons, ordered to pay 10s per month. Graham v Maddox; judgment summons, ordered to pay £2 down and the remainder in a month, or in default one month's imprisonment'
