Disastrous floods have occurred in Roumaviia, which carried away bridges, portions of railways, and other works. Turkish ironclads are bombarding Caucasian towns on the coast of the Black Sea.

The Emperor Alexander proceeds to the Russian J lead Quarters at Ployesti. On his arrival it is expected that active operations on the Danube will immediately be commenced.

Warlike preparations are going forward in Servia, notwithstanding the disuasion of Russia.

The intervention of Austria will probably be provoked, should Servia make any movement.

Fears are entertained for (lie safety of the schooner Aspasia, which left Wellington on the 2nd of May, in company with the Hannah Bloonifield, for Kaipara. The insurance companies promptly paid the claims of Mr Caselbevg for losses by ihe late fire at Masterton, amounting to about £BOOO. Mr Caselberg estimates his loss at about £SOOO over the insurance.
