The s,s. Rotorua, Captain McFarlane, arrived at 8 a.m., and sailed at 1 p.ni for Port Chalmers.
The ship Wellington sailed this morning. The barques Sea Shell and Queensland from Newcastle arrived this morning.
The Sarah and Mary, brigantine, was berthed at the Gladstone Pier to discharge her timber. The John Knox is to be berthed at the Gladstone Pier to load cargo for Sydney from narrow guagc trucks. The Elizabeth Curie will be berthed at the Gladstone Pier to load.
The s.s. Wellington left Dunedin at 11 a.m. on the 24th instant, and arrived in harbor at 12.55 p.m. yesterday. Experienced heavy head seas and strong head winds up the coast. The Wellington discharged 30 tons of cargo at No 1 Wharf, and sailed for Northern Ports late last night. The Piako put out about 200 tons of general cargo and loaded a considerable quantity of grain yesterday. The Margaret Galbraith did good work yesterday, as besides 1000 sacks of gram, she loaded a considerable quantity of wool and tallow. The Albion Go's ship Wellington cleared the Customs last evening. She sails to-day. The steamer Southern Cross, a vessel long known in the intercolonial trade, is offered for sale by the Tasmanian Steam Navigation Company. With regard to the insurance of the specie on board the schooner May Queen, supposed to be lost off Tonga, the Auckland Herald says the New Zealand Insurance Company took ,£IOOO upon it on Monday last, but immediately rc-insured in the Standard and the Australian for £SOO each.
