MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
♦ CERISTCHURCH. Friday, May 25.

Drunk axd Disorderly.—Two inebriates, who appeared for the first time, were each lined ss. John Bird, for being drunk, resisting and assaulting the arresting constable, tearing his coat, and striking a woman in the constable's presence, was fined £2 in all. John Sale, for being drunk, was fined 10s. Robert Myer charged with drunkenness and resisting the police, and who had been before the Court five times within the last four weeks was sentenced to one months' imprisonment with hard labor. Wm. Welsh was fined 10s. Win. Lewton for being drunk and resisting the constable was lined 15s.
Larceny.—John Thomas Tree, who had been arrested at the Rakaia Gorge oh the charge of stealing a coat from the Rakaia was remanded for eight days for the production of evidence. John Bird, charged with the larceny of a number of carpenter's tolls, the property of John Martin, was remanded until Monday on the application of Inspector Buckley.
LYTTELTOK Friday, May 25. (Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.)
Drunkexness. —George Drysdale, arrested by Constable Mcintosh, was fined 10s, or, in default, forty-eight hours'.
LAECENY. —William Harrison was charged with purloining a watch and chain, the property of William Allen, under the value of £5. Accused had given himself up to the police, and acknowledged the offence. The case was adjourned till to-morrow, in orderjthat the prosecutor might attend to give evidence.
