MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH,
Tuesday, May 22. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., K.M.) Drunk and Disorderly. —Daniel Anstcnsen, arrested for drunkenness, was fined 20s. G-eorge Cox, for being drunk and resisting (lie police, was lined 10s. George Bentram, for drunkenness, using obscene language, and interfering with the police, was fined 40s. John Donellj, for being drunk and resisting the police, was fined 10s; and George Foi’ster, for a similar offence, 20s. George Palmer Stevens, for drunkenness, was fined 10s. Affiliation. —Samuel Millar was ordered to pay 10s per week towards the support of bis illegitimate child, of which Janet Anderson is the mother. In reply to Mr Izard, who appeared for defendant, his Worship said the defendant coidd if he desired pay one lump sum of £SO.
LYTTELTON. Tuesday, May 22. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.] Drunkenness. —An inebriate, who appeared for the first time, was fined 10s. Lunacy prom Drink. —Henry Phillips was sent to the Lunatic Asylum, under the certificates of Drs. Rouse and McDonald.
