CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, May 10. [Before G-. L. Hellish, Esq., R.M.] Larceny. —Harry Birmingham, alias Chas. Morris, was brought up on a charge of shoplift ing, and remanded until next day. Drunkenness. —John R. Hutchinson and Robert Hamilton were fined os each; the former to pay Is cab-hire. LYTTELTOA. Thursday, May 10. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M., and J. T. Rouse, Esq., J.P.] Abusive Language and Resisting the Police. —Alexander Finley, cook and steward of the Especulador, was charged with using abusive language to Captain Powell, master of the vessel, also with resisting Constable Devine, to whom he was given in charge. Fined 40s. Drunkenness. —G-eorge Davison, arrested by Constable Bullen, was fined 10s. Illegally on Premises. —John Inglis, arrested by Detective Smith, was charged with being illegally on the Customhouse premises last night. The Bench ordered him to pay a fine of 20s, or in default 96 hours’ hard labour. JN'eglected Criminal Children’s Act. T. Suddon was summoned for not having paid for the support of his child at the Burnham Industsial School. The Bench ordered the defendant to pay up the arrears, amounting to £9 15s, at the rate of £3 per month. Civil Cases. —Trustess Mrs Hargreaves v Fogarty, claim £25 4s; Mr If alder for plaintiff; judgment for amount claimed; costs, 255; solicitor ’s fee, £2 2s. Rich v Snoswell, claim £4 for rent; judgment for £3; defendant to pay the same at the rate of 30s per month.
