[Per Press Agency.] INTERPRO YINCTAL, Dunedin, May 4. The question of the site of the docks was brought under the notice of the Harbor Board yesterday by a deputation, headed by Mr H. S. Chapman, late Judge. Tire consideration of the whole subject was postponed for a week. The manager of the Bank of New Zealand has offered to negotiate the balance of the Harbor Board Loan of £120,000, and place extended facilities for financial arrangements at the disposal of the Board. The offer has been referred to the finance committee. The rush which lately took place at the Taieri is now all over, and the ground abandoned. The Teremakau Eush. Kumara, May 4. The new rush on the north side side of the Teremakau is attracting a deal of attention throughout the district. About 700 people are on the ground. The country is pegged off on all sides for a considerable distance, and it is reported that there are already twenty parties on payable gold. 300 to 400 persons cross and re-cross the river daily from Kumara. Strong dissatisfaction is expressed at the delay and the expense of the tolls for crossing the river by the punt. Last night a public meeting was held, when it was unanimously resolved—“ That the County Councils of Grey and Hokitika be petitioned to construct a. bridge over the Teremakau, and throw open the ferry free to the public.” New Plymouth, May 4. The Nelson papers having published telegrams as from Now Plymouth respecting the gold rush on the banks of the Teremakau, near Grcymouth, several have come here by the steamer. This is an error, no gold having been discovered in any part of this district. [from our own correspondent.] Dunedin, May 4. Flour has gone up £l, but bread remains at 7d. The Star’s special at Teremakau telegraphs hopefully of the prospects. The gold is nuggetty, and is running 2dwts. to the load. Several parties are on the lead.
