THE ADELAIDE CUP.

Speculation is begun on the Adelaide Cup, to be run May 22nd. The acceptances number twenty-five. Pride of the Hills, 3 yrs., Bst 10lb, is top weight.. It is thought he has been run off Ins legs. Adelaide is his home, and so he will no doubt be sent over for these race. His defeat in the Sydney Gold Cup, and, yet more, the Chrysolite colt beating him in the three-mile plate, at weight for age, lower his pretensions considerably. He will not be favorite in this race. Electricity, fist 1-lb, is thought, to be very leniently treated, and bids fair for that position. The Painter and Spark are each in at, Bst. The latter, third in (he Sydney Cup, ought to make a good show, if meant. Other popular horses are Emulation, Bst 21b, Aldinga, 7st 31b, Nightingale, fist 101 b, Glengary, fist 71b, and Whisperer, fist.
