The returns of the election are all to hand, except from Jackson’s Bay. Mr Gisborne’s majority now stands at 57. There are about 20 Votes only at Jackson’s Bay. Port Chalmers, May 2. The breakers came over the beach through the houses into llie streets knocking down fences and carrying away small outhouses. There was a good deal of alarm, hut no very serious injury was done.
