(Per Press Agency., INTBRPRO VINCI AL. Railway Accident. Death from Poison. Auckland, April 23. On the* arrival of the Taupo, Richard Walters, a passenger, was arrested on a telegram on a charge of stealing a cheque of the value of £2O at Wellington. A Greymouth digger, named John Nevis, lying drunk on the Kaiapara railway had his arm cut off by the train. Campbell Kirkwood Clarkson, a commission agent, picked up a bottle containing brandy in a hedge near an old hut, and drunk a portion of its contents. He died in great agony from poison, supposed to be strychnine. Sm ilcd —On the 22nd, Taupo. Passenger for Lyttelton, Mr Huggins. The Governor in Dunedin. Dunedin, April 23. The Governor holds an undress levee tomorrow. It is the intention of the City Council to invite him to a banquet during his stay. It will probably take place on Thursday evening. A lad named William Heads, four years old, was run over by a cart wheel in King street, on Saturday. His skull was fractured in several places, and but little hopes are entertained of his recovery. The Dunedin Jockey Club, on Saturday evening, unanimously endorsed the action of the Oumaru Club re Fishhook and Derritt. Wellington, April 23. Sailed —The Taranaki, for the South, with the Sau Francisco mail, at 1 p.m. Passengers —Messrs Scott, Lacey, Stevenson, Heumvood, Cameron, Large, Townley, and 14 in steerage;
