THE WRECK AT TIMARU. MAN DROWNED. [By Telegraph.] (From a correspondent of the Press.) Timabu, Apvil 20. Tho Isabella Ridley, which was stranded yesterday, is holding together well. When the tide rose the vessel tipped over on her beam ends, with her masts towards the shore, and all moveable articles were swept off tho deck. Between eleven and twelve last night some of the seamen who had been landed from the barque in the afternoon, foolishly attempted to get on board again, with a view of saving their clothes. One succeeded, but another named Thomas Smith was carried away by a wave, and was drowned. A search being made along the beach this morning, the body of the man was found near the rocky point by tho Washdyke lagoon, nearly two miles from where the vessel was lying. Tho wreck was sold by auction this afternoon, the hull and rigging being purchased by the Government Landing Service for two ; the grain and potatoes by Mr Scarfc for £2O.
