Auckland Lunatic Asylum— Dr Skac’s examination of llic Colonial asylums, it will be seen, has revealed that in some instances they are not the institutions which they ought to be. In Auckland he has found IGS patients compressed into the space intended for fifty, and in other respects ho makes unfavorable comparison between the condition of the asylum and that of the asylums in Christchurch and Hokitika, of which he had already made good report.
