CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, April 7. (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq, R.M.) Housebreaking. Samuel Haim, alias Robert Knight, who had been re-arrested outside the court, after being discharged the previous day, was brought up charged with having broken into the house of Mr. H. Vaughan atFernsideonthc 19th March. Sergeant Maurice stated that accused had been seen near Mr Vaughan’s place the day the house was broken into. Some houses at Oxford and Moeraki had also been entered, and accused had been for some time loitering about those districts. He would apply for a remand to Rangiora for 10th inst. Remand granted as asked. Drunk and Diorderly. —Five inebriates, who appeared for the first time, were each fined ss. Joseph Robinson was fined 10s. Pawnbroker’s License. —A pawnbroker's license was granted to Isaac Herman, for premises at corner of Colombo and Gloucester streets. LYTTELTON. Saturday, April 7. (Before W. Donald, Esq, R.M.) Wife Desertion —Alfred Alfrcy, on remand, charged with this offence, was dismissed. Drunkenness. —James Lyndon and Peter Millott, arrested by Constable Mautray, wore charged with this offence, and fined 20s, and 10s respectively. Civil Cases.— Weir v Cole; claim £9; (adjourned;) Mr Naldcr for the plaintiff; several witnesses were called by the plaintiff, and the Bench gave judgment for £9 with Us Court costs, and £1 Is solicitors’ fee, witness expenses 20s.
