Friday, March 16, (Before H. B. Webb and J. I. Bouse, Esq.'s, J.P's.) Lunacy from Drink.—Charles Cray thorue, who had been remanded from Christchurch for medical treatment, was discharged, having recovered. Attempted Suicide. —Samusl Dunkley was charged with attempting to cut his throat, on March 9th. It appeared that accused had been in a most depressed state, through drink, and that on the morning in question he looked for his razor, but, being unable to find it in the usual place where it was kept, he took a table knife from his wife and inflicted a wound on the right gide of the throat. She ran out and called for aid, and he was arrested. The Bench, after severely admonishing the prisoner, discharged him, on his promising to refrain from driok ia the future.
