It is stated in a telegram from Egypt Hat the December receipts of the New Public B.bt Office amount to £750,000 sterling,
John Wing, a station master employed by the Govern and Wye liailway Cora.any at Lydbrook, was brought up before the local Magistrates charged with neglecting his duties, whereby the liven of passengers wore in danger. Thq prisoner pleaded guilty. He had received a summons for coal stealing, and tp evade this absconded. Two trains arrived at Lydbrook railway station —a goods and passenger —nobody being there to pass them on, and, aa the block system was used, great delay arose. The Bench sent the pri soner to gaol for one month with hard labor, teliing him that a most serious accident might have arisen in consequence of his conduct.
