Amekican Whitk Pish.—At yesterday's meeting of the Council of the Acclimatisa tion Society, a telegram was read from D Hector, requesting that the majority of the young white fieh hatched from the ova sent down by the Government, might be placed in Lake Coleridge. It then became known to members for the first time that out of the 200 fish hatched only about sis remained. It seems that muslin was placed in the boxes to prevent the food passing through ; this impediment caused them to overflow, and it resulted in the young fish being washed over on to the floor of the fish'house. Very general regret was expressed at the loss, only occasioned by extreme carelessness on the part of the society's employee.
