CHRISTCHUIICH
Wednesday, February 28. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., KM.) Drunk and Disorderly.—Charles Hill, arrested for drunkenness, was fined 103, and William Thompson in the same amount Six inebriates who appeared for the first time, were each fined ss. Patrick Monigan, for being drunk and resisting the police, was lined 20s. Jsaao Musgrave, charged with drunkenness, assaulting Constable Walker, and damaging his hat, was fined 20s, and ordered to pay 10s damage done. Affiliation. -The adjourned case against William Meikleham was called on for failing to support his illegitimate child. Mr Thomas appeared for the defendant. A witness named James Campbell, who had been subpconed, was not in attendance, and his Worship adjourned the case to secure his attendance.
Disobeying an Order.—John Hickling, alias George Digby, was charged on warrant with having disobeyed an order of the Court to contribute towards the support of his wife. Mrs Hickling stated that she had not received any money from her husband since November last. During that month, he had left Christchurch with a womau, and she had heard, subsequently, that he was living with this person at Oamaru. His Worship said he knew all about it and later particulars, and ordered accused to pay the arrears, £9 15s, forthwith : in default, one month's imprisonment. LYTTELTON. Wednesday, February 28. (Before W. Donald, Esq., 8.M.) Drunkenness.— James Lyncleu, arrested by Constable Johnstone for the above offence, was cautioned and dismissed. Lunacy from Drink.—Frederick Rawe was brought up charged by Constable. Devine with the above, and remanded for seven days.
