CANTERBURY PIGEON FLYING CLUB,— The first monthly mectingof this newly formed club was held last night in the auction room of Mr Uawkes. Nearly all the members were present, and some pigeons were exhibited, including three fine young dragoons bred by Messrs Macquarie and Walker from their English birds. Mr Macquarie, the president, offered a silver medal to be flown for from the Ashburton on the 17th of March on conditions to be fixed by the members. A number of birds are in training, the next stage being Ashburton, and by the end of the j»oi}th Tjmaiß will he reached.
