Feb 14—Hawea, s.s, 4(j2 tons, Wheeler, from Dunedin. Passengers Saloon : Mr and Mrs Wendelburn and child, Mrs Coombs, Master Coombs, Messrs Gordon, McKenzie, Williams, Russell; three in steerage; twentyone for Northern porta. Feb 14—BlackwaU, ketch, 27 ton, Rae, from Kaiapoi. Feb 14 —Wild Wave, schooner, 39 tons, Mordant, from Akaroa. CLEARED. Feb 14—Hawea, s.s., 642 tons, Wheeler, for Northern ports. Feb 14—Antelope, cutter, 17 tons, Malcolmson, for Akaroa. Feb 14 —Argus, ketch, 31 tons, Donovan, for Kaiapoi. SAILED. Feb 14—Linnet, ketch, 17 tons, Molyneaux, for Pigeon Bay. The s.s, Hawea, Captain Wheeler, from Dunedin, arrived in harbour this morning at eight o’clock. She sails north during the afternoon. AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING. The barque Australian Sovereign and brig Sea Spray sailed from Newcastle for this port on February Ist. ENGLISH SHIPPING. The barque Ann Gambles, 424 tons, left London on December Bth for this port, passing Deal the following day. The Carnatic cleared the Customs at London for Lyttelton on December lath. The Hermione and Margaret Galbraith were on the berth for this port when the last advices left England. The “European Mail ” of December 22nd says : “ On December sth Messrs Alexander Stephen and Sons launched, at Linthouse, the second of three ships of about 1150 tons, and class 100 AAI, to the order of the New Zealand Shipping Co, London. In accordance with this company’s custom of calling their vessels after rivers in New Zealand, she was named the Piako, the ceremony being performed by Mrs Mclnnis, wife of Captain Mclnnis, of the company’s ship Opawa. When rigged and fitted the Piako will proceed to London to load for New Zealand. Messrs Shaw, Saville’s new ship, the Pleione, sailed for Wellington on December 14th. Captain Renaut is in command. The followed the Pleione on the 17th of December, being also bound tor Wellington. The barque Fernglen, for Napier, left London on December 9th, and put her pilot ashore off Dartmouth on the 13th. She is commanded by Captain Fraser. The Euterpe, ship, left London, bound for Otago, on December 2nd, and was sighted off' Plymouth on December 11th. She is still commanded by Captain Phillips.
