THE HOSPITAL DRAINAGE.
lo the Editor of the Glolc. Sir, —I noticed in your last issue that some individual of the Celestial fraternity, adopting the mom de plume of “ Choukuzee junr.” was anxious to air his knowledge of the Hospital management to the detriment of the swimming baths, or the ratepayers at whose expense the baths have been erected. If “ Choukuzee, junr.” wished the public to benefit by the knowledge he has been so very anxious to impart, and has taken so much pains to describe in “atoms,” be should have ventilated them previous to the erection of the baths, as it was generally known when they were to be established long before any outlay had been incurred. As the baths have been erected at a considerable cost, and at the expense of the ratepayers, I think our “Celestial” friend would have displayed more sense had he bottled his information, seeing the baths are not only generally used, but appreciated by a large number of people. Before closing I would like to offer the City Councillors one or two suggestions, viz., that the Council let the baths by tender, restricting the personae taking them to charge a nominal amount only for their use, making such amount to be within the reach of all classes. Yours, &c., CHOUKUZEE SECUNDUS. Feb. 3rd, 1877.
