FIRE AT THE STYX.

A fire occurred this morning, resulting in the total destruction of Mr Moir’s dwelling house and furniture. It appears the family retired to rest leaving everything apparently safe. About two o’clock Mr Moir was aroused by hearing a noise, and found the back portion of the house on fire; so rapid were the flames that he had barely time to get out his family and rescue a small quantity of furniture before the place was in a complete blaze. Fortunately, there was no wind at the time, or most probably the mills would have shared the same fate.
