Saturday, January 27. (Before G. L, Hellish, Esq., 8.M., and Dr Deamer, J. P.) Drunk and Disorderly.— John Wilson, charged with being drunk and resisting tha police, was fined 10s. An inebriate, who appeared for the first time, was discharged. William Hutton, who had been remanded for medical treatment, and had recovered, was brought up and discharged. LYTTELTON. Saturday, January 27. [Before W. Donald, Esq,, R.M.] Drunk and Disorderly and Resisting the Police. —John Harris and James Anderson, arrested by Constables Devine and Mclntosh, were accused of this offence, Several witnesses deposed to the disturbance caused by the prisoners, who behaved in the most disgraceful manner, using the ,'most shameful and obscene language and disturbing the people generally. The Bench fined accused 20a each, and ordered Anderson to pay 15s, damage done by him to one of the policemen’s caps. Lunacy from Drink. —Wm. Hutton, on remand from Christchurch, was brought up, and having fully recovered his health, was discharged. Civil Case. —Lyttelton Gas, Coal, and Coke Company v J. Disher; claim £lO 14s fid; judgment for full amount claimed ; costs, 29s j solicitor’s fee, £3 3s.
