MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, December 27. [Before G. L. Lee Esq., and Dr Deamer, J.P’s.] Drunk and Disorderly. Three inebriates, who appeared for the first time, were each fined ss; and another first offender was discharged. For being drunk, using obscene language, and striking a man in front of a house of ill-fame in Lyttelton street, Patrick Butler was fined 10s. David Hughes was fined 5s for drunkenness. Disobeying an Order, —A case against Edward Spray, for disobeying an order of the Dunedin Bench to contribute towards the support of his wife and family, was dismissed. Assault. —By leave of the Bench a case against John Vickery for assaulting his wife, was withdrawn at the request of complainant. LYTTELTON. Wednsday, December 27. (Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.) Drunk. —An inebriate appearing before the Court for the first time, was dismissed with a caution. Transfer. —An application for a temporary transfer of license Ocean View Hotel from Thomas Blythe to Samuel Neale, was adjourned until Tuesday next.
