The death is announced at Edinburgh of Mr George Lawrence, the author of “Guy Livingstone” and other well-known works of fiction. Mr Lawrence was the eldest son of the Rev A. 0. Lawrence and Lady Emily Lawrence, the daughter of Daniel, sixth Fail of Winchileea, and second Earl of Nottingham. He was born in the year 1827, and was educated at Rugby and Balliol College, Oxford, whore ho graduated as a second class in classics. He was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1852, but early abandoned practice for literature. Among other works for the coming sea on Messrs R.
