POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
This Day. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per s.s. Hawea, at 8.30 p.m. For Southern Ports of New Zealand, per s.s Wellington, at 8.30 p.m. The delivery window, Christchurch Postoffice, will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. for the purpose of delivering correspondence received by country mails. Applicants are requested to give their addresses in full. All country mails usually closed on Saturday, will be made up for despatch this day, at 8.30 p.m Saturday, December 16. A Post-office holiday—all Branches of the Office closed. Tuesday, December 19. Mails per Arawata will close as under : For United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1.20 p.m. ; late letters, 1.40 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, India, China, and the East, &c, at 1 p.m; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Otago and the Australian Colonies, at 1.20 p.m; late letters, 140 p.m. Posting newspapers and book packets, 12.30 p.m. For money orders and registered letters, noon. Late letters for the above mails can be posted in the guard’s van by the 2.30 p.m. train, provided such letters bear, in addition to the full rate of postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee.
