CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, November 20. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M., and G. L. Lee, Esq, J.P.) "““Drunk ' and Disorderly. Alexander Smith, for this offence, was fined 40s. Obs erecting a Footpath. —John Collier, charged on two informations with obstructing the footpath in Cashel street with some sacks of peas, was fined 10s. Similar in formations against E. H. Banks were dismissed.
Keeping a House of 111-Fame. A charge against Rebecca Stewart for keeping a house of ill-fame at Avonville, was adjourned until the 21st. Transfer of License. —A temporary transfer of the wine and beer license of the Suffolk Restaurant, Armagh street, was granted from J. Simpson to 0. E. Paget.
LYTTELTON. Monday, November 20, [Before W. Donald, Bsq,, R.M.] Drunkenness. —James S. McEwen and Charles Johnson were fined 5a and 10s respectively for this offence.
