The M.C.O 0. continued their match bebetween England and Colonies, Dixon and Bell, the not outs, resuming their places at the wickets. The score increased rapidly from 80 to 120, when Bell at last succumbed to the attacks of Frith. He only made 10 during his stay, but Dixon, who was soon afterwards bowled by Fuller, scored quickly, his total of 31 was made by free hitting, and includes a 4, three 3's, and four 2's; byes had also a good total. The innings closed for 126, or 93 on. The Colonies then resumed, D. Bmden and Watson going in first. A good stand was made, and there was every appearance of a long score; but, with the exception of these two players, none of the rest of the side obtained double figures. D'Emden was first to leave, being bowled by Ashby after making 14 by two 3's, two 2's, and singles. The next three wickets soon fell to Ashby's bowling, which, during the commencement of the innings, was very good. Watson continued to score by steady play, and resisted the attacks of the bowlers, but was at last dismissed by attempting a sharp run. His total of 45 was made up by two 4's, six 3's, &c; byes again are very heavy, being no less than 26, which, although the {bowling was fast, was far more than it should be. The innings resulted in 106 runs, thus saving the innings defeat by 13 runs. It was decided not to play th« match out, but give it ij favor of England on the first innings.
