Outrage at the Solomon Islands.— The Nem Zealand Herald of the 3rd instant gives the following particulars of an outrage at the Solomon Island :—“We are indebted to Captain Robinson, of the schooner Jessie Henderson, for a correct version of the outrage committed at the north-west end of Georgia Island, Solomon Group, about the middle of July. The Jessie Henderson was in the vicinity at the time, and heard of it at Munda, a harbor in New Georgia. The account given by the natives at Munda varies considerably from that published by our morning contemporary, and it is to the following effect: The brigantine Martha Ellen, Captain Brodie, of Sydney, was on a trading voyage amongst these islands, when his boat’s crew, consisting of four natives of Savu, of the Solomon Group, were attacked by the New Georgians, but upon what pretence could not be ascertained. H.M.S. Barracouta, on arriving at Makra, was informed of this outrage by Captain Ferguson, of the s.s. Ripple, and immediately proceeded to New Georgia to chastise the offenders. The Jessie Henderson was at Savu when the Barracouta left, on August 18th, in company with the Ripple. When at Munda Captain Robinson was cautioned by the chief Betac to steer clear of the scene of the outrage, as the natives of that particular locality were unfriendly to the whites. There is some doubt as to the name of the vessel in question being the Martha Ellen—it is reported to have been the crew of the Kate Kearney, from Sydney. ”
