The U.C.Q.C. continued their match of Married and Single, but several members were absent, which destroyed the interest in the game. Ollivier and Wood again went in first, but the former failed to stop a shooter from Moore when he had scored 6. Lance made a short stand, and put 12 quickly together before returning an easy catch to the bowler. Izard soon afterwards joined Wood, and completely mastered the bowling, which they hit to all parts of the field. The former was at last bowled by a slow, but not until he had scored 78 by two 4’s, five 3’s, eleven 2’s, Ate, Wood soon afterwards shared a similar fate, having made 71 principally by singles. Dickinson got into double figures before he gave a chance to Wilkinson, which was not refused. The innings closed for li-2, thus giving the Single 157 to get to win ; but as it was just time for drawing the stumps, the game was not continued. The following is the score : MARRIED. A. The M.O.C.C. commenced their match of England against Colonies, but owing to some of the players not being able to attend through business, the Colonies were not so strong as they would have been. D’Bmden and Fowler were first to appear on the defensive, but Ashby, who was in fine form, soon disposed of them both. Fuller ran himself out, and as both bowlers were well on the spot, the end soon came with a very small result, 33 being the total of the innings, byes, we regret to notice, being chief scorer. England then went in, and soon passed their opponent’s score, Ashby playing grandly. He made some splendid leg hits, a 5 and a 4 being amongst them. These hits were worth more runs than even actually obtained, but the ground was very dead, which prevented the ball travelling as it should have done. Turner was in some time for his contribution, and Dixon, who is playing much better this season, being not out at the call of time, having made 12 by good play. The total for seven wickets being 98. The match will be continued on Saturday next. The following is the score :

ANALYSIS OF BOWLING. Colonies—lst innings—Sweet, 84 balls, 7 maiden overs, 10 runs, 3 wickets ; Ashby, 88 balls, 9 maiden overs, 10 runs, 6 wickets ; Turner, 6 balls, 2 runs.

M. 0.0.0. 2nd ELEVEN V. THE COLLEGE 0.0. This match was commencedon the U. 0,0,0. ground on Saturday last, and seems likely to prove very close and exciting. The M. 0.0.0. men went to the wickets first, and ran up a total of 91 before they were disposed of ; towards which Palairet contributed 22 by steady play. Atack hit hard for his score of 18, which included two 4’s and one 3 ; whilst Reeder’s 15 and J. Horner’s 10 finished the list of double figure men. W. Million and Smith were the first representatives of the College, and good ones they proved to be, as thanks to loose fielding and wretchedly weak bowling, they were not parted until they had run up a total of 34. Smith’s innings was a sample of fine free batting, combined with great luck, no less than four chances given by him being refused. E. Hamilton, 12, and Robinson, not out, 25, also gave the field plenty of leather hunting. When play ceased for the day 8 wickets had fallen for 102, so that the Boys have slightly the best of the game. As stated the M. 0.0.0. bowling was very weak, all their best bowlers being absent, and their fielding was, as usual, simply disgraceful. The youngsters bowled fairly, and fielded in splendid style, and certainly deserve to win the match. The game will be continued ne?t Saturday, at 2 p.m.
