Fire Brigade Committee. Messrs Jones, Hobbs, and Nathan waited on the Government on Monday for the purpose of asking them if they will join with the City Council, and possibly the insurance com panies, in the expense of connecting, by means of telegraph wires, the various public buildings and institutions in the city with the two fire brigade stations. The Lunatic Asylum is already connected with the Polict staiion. It is now proposed to connect tht Hospital and Railway station with one oi the Brigade stations, and the two Brigade stations are themselves to be also connected ;.y a wire. The deputation was courteously received by the Superintendent and Execu tive, but in the present state o£ affairs they could give no promise,
