{Per Press Agency .) HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Tuesday, Octobkb 31. THE PROROGATION. Upon the House resuming, it was announced that the Legislative Council had agreed with the report of the conference on the Waste Lands Administration Bill. The Pebmiee then said there had been a great deal of discussion on the Sartoris, Downe and other claims’ Bill, and, on account of the late period of the session, he moved the adjournment of the debate for a week. Agreed to. The House adjourned till 6.30 p m. On resuming, there was nothing done but the reading by the clerk of a notice that members were wanted in the Legislative Council; and, upon going there, the clerk read the commission proroguing Parliament till the 16 th of January next. This closed the proceedings. The Legislative Council business was a reflex of that in the House of Representatives. THE BUSINESS OF THE HOUSE. The following is an analysis of the business during session :—Bills brought from the 0 uncil awaiting Boyal assent: this year, 182 ; last year, 144. Bills of all sorts : this year, 305 ; last year, 186. Tnere were eightyfive days of meeting this year ; fifty-nine last year; divisions, 345 this year; 94 last year. Hours of sitting before midnight: this year, 698 hours 40 minutes ; hours of sitting after, 155 hours 30 minutes ; daily average, 10 hours 28 minutes. Last year : hours before midnight, 35 hours 45 minutes ; hours of sitting after, 65 hours 30 minutes ; daily average, 7 hours 5 min. There were 345 reports from select committees ; 187 papers were laid upon the table ; 250 questions asked of Ministers.
