Habens, the t chairman, and Mr Veel be appointed I to wait upon the Minister for Educa- a tion with special reference to the whole question of the special building rate levied on the district, with full powers to act upon l the matter." c Mr Kirk seconded the motion, which was agreed to. r A letter from the Minister for Education, 1 sanctioning the appointment of Mr Exall to teach grp.tuitoußly for three months in the < school. A letter was read from Mr Loughrey, t stating that the attendance at the Gloucester p street school for the past week was 1003, and recommending Miss Young for the vacancy in the pupil teaching staff. t Mr Thomson moved—" That Miss Young a be appointed as pupil teacher in room of Miss McCormack resigned," which was f, agreed to. i It was resolved—" That pupil teachers be s placed on the same footing as other teachers c as regards giving notice on leaving their situations." « The committee then adjourned.
