THE CATHEDRAL.

At the meeting of the Synod yesterday the following report on the Cathedral was laid on the table ; ''The Cathedral Commissioners beg to submit their annual report to Synod as follows:—That during the last twelve months progress in the building of the . Cathedral has been steadily maintained. Owing however to the massive nature of the structure, and the limited means now at their disposal, the commissioners are precluded from undertaking the rapid elevation of the building, desirable for many reasons, and particularly as a stimulus to churchmen to renewed exertions in providing funds necessary, tor the completion cf a portion, it not the whole, of theiPa'thfedral, w:hSo;h,j*he!4 roofed in, could be made available for Divina service. It has boen determined, at least for the present, to discontinue letting contracts*.
