Tuesday, October 24. Mails per Arawata will close as under— For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton, at 120 p.m.; late letters, 1.40 p.m. . For the Continent of Europe, via France, Italy, or Trieste, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Point de Galle, India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Reunion, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean ports, America, &c, &c, at 1 p.m. ; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Otago and Australian Colonies, at 1.20 p.m. ; late letters, 1.40 p.m. Registered letters and money orders, noon. Newspapers and book packets, 12.30 p.m. Late letters for transmission per R.M.S. Arawata, can be posted in the guard’s van, railway station by the 2.30 p.m. train to Lyttelton, provided such letters bear, in addition to the full postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee. Wednesday, October 25. For Otago per Wellington. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui. J. J. FITZGiBBON, Chief Postmaster.
